Newsom Dares Border Czar Tom Homan: ‘Arrest Me. Let’s Go’

“Get your hands off these poor people. They’re just trying to live their lives, man. Paying their taxes.”

During a Sunday interview with NBC News, Border Czar Tom Homan stated, “The rhetoric is so high against ICE officers in this city that it’s a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt. We’ve got help coming, and we’re going to do our job, and we’re going to continue doing that job.”

Homan warned that any California officials who “cross the line” by interfering with ICE operations or obstructing federal efforts to quell the unrest could face arrest and prosecution.

Speaking to an NBC News reporter after a Sunday evening meeting at LAPD headquarters, California Gov. Gavin Newsom had some tough words for the border czar. Aiming his remarks directly at Homan, Newsom said, “Get your hands off these poor people. They’re just trying to live their lives, man. Paying their taxes. Been here ten years.

“The fear, the horror, what the hell is this guy?” he asked. “Come after me, arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy. I don’t give a d*mn.

The governor continued, “These guys need to grow up. They need to stop and we need to push back. And I’m sorry to be so clear, but that kind of bloviating is exhausting.

“So, Tom, arrest me. Let’s go.”

In an X post afterward, Newsom attributed the protests to the Trump administration, suggesting that the three-day-long riots were “provoked by chaos from Washington.”

The so-called “protestors” are demanding the release of each individual whom ICE has arrested over the past week. As of 6 p.m. on Sunday night, 11 illegals had been apprehended and a Fox News panel described them as “the worst of the worst.” One of the detainees, for example, was facing charges of battery to spouse, willful cruelty to a child, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and driving under the influence. Others were charged with second-degree murder, sexual battery, and child abuse.

Newsom is well aware that the illegal immigrants rounded up by ICE in Los Angeles over the past several days are not “these poor people” who are “just trying to live their lives man, paying their taxes.” They are not the individuals we want in our country.

The governor—along with most legacy media outlets—has described the protests as “mostly peaceful.” I suppose, if one considers throwing rocks and projectiles at ICE officials, setting cars on fire, and blockading a federal building to be peaceful activities, then that characterization would be appropriate.

Fox News contributor Guy Benson noted he had not seen a single shot of the riots that didn’t feature Mexican flags, f-words, or people hurling objects at law enforcement officers.

Newsom’s claim that the “protests [were] provoked by chaos from Washington” is just plain delusional. As one commenter pointed out, “ICE came in to execute lawful warrants against illegals with active deportation orders, and a bunch of shit-heads started rioting. Nobody believes you.”

There was a time when the public might have accepted this kind of spin without question—but that time is over. They’ve watched the scenes of chaos and confrontation play out on their television screens and across social media in real time. They’ve seen the fires, the clashes with law enforcement, and the blockades for themselves. Whatever narrative officials or media outlets try to offer, the public is increasingly capable of drawing its own conclusions about what’s really happening in Los Angeles.

Newsom is widely expected to launch a presidential bid in 2028, and he appears increasingly eager to position himself as a national leader. In recent months, he has gone out of his way to project confidence, decisiveness, and command on the national stage. But reality tells a different story. His handling of the Los Angeles wildfires in January was widely criticized as disorganized, ineffective, and insufficient. Now, in the midst of yet another crisis unfolding in his state, his leadership is once again falling short.

Rather than reinforcing his presidential credentials, these high-stakes moments have only highlighted deep flaws in his ability manage a crisis and raised serious questions about his readiness for higher office. Leaders don’t make excuses. They don’t lie or point blame or try to gaslight their constituents.

Newsom may be eager for the spotlight, but he’s clearly not ready for primetime.

Seems like Newsome just can’t put out any fires.

A huge chair should be erected in downtown LA. It should be labeled the “Time Out” chair and Mewscum should be placed in it and force him to watch the riots.
Act like a petulant child, get treated like one.
Humiliate them.

Yes, please, arrest him. Then slow-walk the process.

Newsome issued a dare to Homan and, by extension, Noem and Trump. Is this really such a good idea?

Find some airtight charges. Arrest him. And while perp walking him, give him the same roughing-up and back=pushes the cops use on the peasantry.

Put him in a cell and let him rot for four years, just like the January 6th “rioters”.

If enforcing the law is provocation…. provoke the living hell out of them.

Homan warned that any California officials who “cross the line” by interfering with ICE operations or obstructing federal efforts to quell the unrest could face arrest and prosecution.

Fair enough.

Aiming his remarks directly at Homan, Newsom said, […] “Come after me, arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy. I don’t give a d*mn.

There’s a curious disconnect between those two paragraphs.

Homan correctly said that if any official (including Newsom) breaks the law they will be arrested. Newsom has not done that. And he knows he has not done it, and therefore that Homan has no interest in arresting him, nor intent to do so. He knows that no matter how angry he gets Homan, he can’t arrest him. So he thumbs his nose at him and dares him to arrest him, thus making himself out to be brave and bold when in fact he’s the exact opposite.

Maybe, with a bit of luck, the good Goobernator will show up at one of the riots mostly peaceful demonstrations and get caught up in one of the crowds Doing Something Wrong. This way the NG can round him up with the rest.

Oh, I know. Dream on, Mr. Grizzly. Even if he were stupid enough to consider it, he’d never risk scuffing his Guccis or getting his Rolex stolen by being among (sniff!) those people.

The posturing Gov8. Hairdo is at best an oath breaker for failing to protect normal Californians from vicious mobs committing riot, arson, vandalism, and other crimes. At worst, he’s a co-conspirator with the rioters (in terms of Democrat-blessed NGO funding, and his purposeful act of not moving decisively to put down the rioting). Why? Because these filth are part of the modern network of Democrat terrorists that replaced the Party’s former domestic terrorist arm—the KKK.

However, should Newsom cross the line then his words will have weight…at a trial.

As Herbert in Dune wrote….” He who can destroy a thing, controls the thing.”. The rioters control LA. ….. And Bass and Newsom.

Oh yeah. If he breaks the law, even a little bit, he will have not just the book but the entire 20-part series thrown at him. And he will deserve it.

Yes, he CAN arrest him. Many people are arrested unjustly. I believe it was the great philosopher Thomas Magnum who said, “martial arts are based on the ridiculous assumption that your opponent will fight fair.”

No, Homan can’t arrest him. Because he is bound by the law. And because he knows that if he crosses the line and becomes a lawbreaker then he’ll be in bigger trouble than the people he illegally arrests. So he won’t do that. I trust Homan to know what he’s doing, and so far he’s justified that trust.

I sincerely believe that if you shoot a few of these “rioters” hurling firebombs dead, they will all stop answering the Soros-funded ads for these $20/hour ‘acting’ jobs. The families of the deceased will then sue the employers (ActBlue?) of these demonstrators.

Greasy and insufferable Newsolini should change his middle name to “Narcissist.”

This dope is vying with crone-harlot-dunce, Harris, to see which Dhimmi-crat can proffer the most idiotic and feckless statement in defense of criminal thugs engaged in wnaton violence and property destruction.

I’d nail him on arson and causing injury to law enforcement or innocent bystanders – wasn’t it just a few months ago Newsom was begging the Feds for help stopping fires in LA

Newscum is preening peacock whose feathers were plucked for women’s hats sold in San Francisco stores. He thinks he is smart, but he is really quite a transparent shmuck. Between he and Kameltoe it’s a race to the bottom.

All societies and cultures operate according to whatever they define as their Social Contract. Their law match the contract that the population has agreed to.

The Democrats and the Left changed the rules of the Social Contract with the J6 people. They changed the rules, and somehow expect that the old rules will hold for them.

Except that the J6 were legitimately protesting—no street violence, no arson, no assault, no looting—who were labeled by Democrat scum as “insurrectionists”—then treated to third world style persecution including over-charging, solitary confinement, limited access to defense council, etc. etc. Whereas, Democrat street thugs are in fact vicious rioters, murderers, arsonists, looters, and vandals, who are looking to injure anyone in their way—especially LEOs. That’s a huge distinction!

Give Newsome his wish. He can be the first inmate we put in the new Alcatraz prison facility. He needs a cellmate. How about Schiff? Make it a co-ed facility. Pelosi, Waters, the L.A. mayor would be appropriate residents. Put them busy painting the cinder block walls, refinishing the steel bars on the cells built for two, and give them paper and pencils, instructing them to write “I will not interfere with ICE while they are doing their job to enforce the law” 1000 times a day for 60 days.

Poor Gavin has clearly had a psychological break. Since State officials would naturally be reluctant to bring their boss, the Gov, into a mental health facility to receive the care and attention he deserves it might be left up to the Trump Admin to demonstrate the compassion to get Gov Newsom the caring help he needs to restore his sanity and end his delusional fantasies.

Newsom is making noise at Holman about being arrested to try to keep himself in the news and boost up his 2028 Presidential look. I doubt he has any chance other than be better than Kamala.

Brylcream Boy Newsome once again making a fool of himself, as he desperately tries to position himself as the DNC candidate for president in 2028, so he can destroy America like he has destroyed California. He, like all democrats, know that these millions of illegals represent the people who will vote for them – illegally, and then legally after they find a way to give them amnesty – so that the left can continue it’s goal of transforming America into the globalist/socialist utopia they dream of. That’s why Biden’s handlers threw open our borders as soon as he was installed in 2020.

you’ve said the quiet part out loud–this is the exact reason the democrats/leftists/progressives are not decrying the violence/mayhem/destruction of the huge illegal alien population now within our borders–they are positioning themselves (the progs) as the “saviors” opposing ice/legal law enforcement/deportations of violent criminals so as to appear as the moral superiors–at base, the message behind all this posturing/resistance/indifference to violence/tacit approval of attacks on leo/federal officers is clear–“we want you to stay and we will fight to keep you here if you vote democrat”

the left’s only remaining obstacle is to come up with a way via legal legerdemain our outright fraud to make sure that at least several million of these aliens are able to “vote”

make no mistake, voter/election integrity is the issue of the 21st century–the rest of the bs is distraction theater
